It can hold a twelve pack in the base, two sippy cups or juice boxes and it's probably big enough to camp in. Frankie likes her Radio Flyer Discovery Wagon very much.

I knew it would happen. It hurts though. A co-worker informed me Frankie is not a baby (OOPS, well, not an infant but still a baby, her Mom says) anymore and I need to change the Stork icon symbolizing the link to her page. What to?? Send a note if you have any suggestions. And quick - she's almost a year old!

Circa. 1970. I am one of 5 remaining contestants of a class of 30 in Miss Winik's spelling bee.
Ms. Winik: "The word is taught"
Me: "tot, t-o-t, tot"
Ms. Winik: "wrong"
Dead silence (seemed like two hours). Edmund Carafa burst into laughter. The class followed and I cringed. I didn't realize I should have asked to have the word used in a sentence. I was ripped off. This memory was vividly recalled while we watched an entertaining documentary, Spellbound.

This weekend, Trish and I have a date (Sunday) thanks to Julian's Parents. Hmmm. What will we do? Movie, brisk walk, bikeride, s-l-o-w-l-y e-a-t a meal while NOT dispensing yogurt with the other hand? We shall see.

Another useful purpose of blogs (if there are any at all) is to view the daily life of someone in a profession you'd like to learn about. The day to day - the crucial information to learn - to know if the job's right. An interesting contrast is Microsoft Bloggers (guys who write code all day) versus teachers, e.g., Ms. Frizzle (a teacher and links included therein). The code guys have spiffy looking sites that probably validate and all that but the content's a tad boring. Ms. Frizzle and other teachers really have some issues to contend with. I'm not positive I'd want their lives, but they sure aren't bored.

When I move on from big satisfying meals of jello, I'm going to try Clotilde's Parisian version of the California Sandwich on rustic country bread. This is also the first sandwich I've ever seen aged before eating - makes it a perfect choice for lunches.

About, the blog. Readers know I enjoy web logs. I find topics I enjoy and find corresponding weblogs to provide content. I especially love food sites. I've expanded my repertoire of food preparation because of them. When I become interested in a particular site, I can't help read my second favorite part; the "about" section. This has many formats. A brief biographical paragraph, 100 things about the author, etc. Many are tedious but some turn out to be better than the daily content. If you have some time, read about Dean, he writes Textism, I think you'll enjoy his use of English (despite the inconsistent use of the serial comma). And he's French.

What I'll do to see FoodTV. Yesterday, a persisting muscle pain occurred in the area of my heart. Some 30 hours later, I've been tested, subjected to really mediocre hospital food, had a stress test, convinced a delightful nurse to view Frankie's pics on an OSU Hospital computer (thanks for the great care!) and watched a ton of FoodTV while Trish and the kid fended for themselves for the first time in 10 months. Turns out I have a great cardio profile and the muscle pain that brought me in there was unrelated to my heart.
While watching a FoodTV show called "All American Festivals", I got a hankering to try my hand at chili done right. And, Emerill is still . . . Emerill. Will he ever go away? Please, I'm fine, don't send any get well gifts, I won't accept them. Honest.
Just to summarize: NO heart trouble, can still drink beer, probably will accept no gifts.

If we here at DavesBeer can help just one person get a pizza on their table, it will have been worth it all.
