Another useful purpose of blogs (if there are any at all) is to view the daily life of someone in a profession you'd like to learn about. The day to day - the crucial information to learn - to know if the job's right. An interesting contrast is Microsoft Bloggers (guys who write code all day) versus teachers, e.g., Ms. Frizzle (a teacher and links included therein). The code guys have spiffy looking sites that probably validate and all that but the content's a tad boring. Ms. Frizzle and other teachers really have some issues to contend with. I'm not positive I'd want their lives, but they sure aren't bored.
